Testimonials
Steve Simon
After a traumatic and disfiguring fall which resulted in injury to my hand, I was able to avoid surgery by receiving physical therapy at Teaneck Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (TOPT). Dr Malaluan worked with me to regained mobility and functionality. The weekly PT was painful but successful. Dr. Malaluan was patient, compassionate, understanding and most importantly professional. I highly recommend Teaneck Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.

2. Direct Access Law:
In New Jersey, the Direct Access Law allows patients to receive physical therapy without a referral from a healthcare professional. However, there are some conditions, such as:
-
Referral Requirement: If a physical therapist believes that physical therapy is contraindicated or requires services outside their scope of practice, The physical therapist must refer the patient to an appropriate healthcare professional.
-
Progress Monitoring: If a patient does not show reasonable progress within 30 days of the initial treatment, the physical therapist must refer them to a healthcare professional
-
Communication: The physical therapist must inform the patient’s primary care physician about the patient’s plan of care within 30 days of the initial treatment.
This law aims to provide more accessible and timely care while ensuring patient safety and appropriate medical oversight.
3. We provide dry needling and electro-dry needling (CPT Codes 20560 and 20561) as part of our treatment options. To access this service, we will need approval from your physician. Please note that if your insurance does not cover this procedure, it may result in out-of-pocket expenses.
Thank you in advance!
